Adriana Peña, 2022 Field Worker Bridge Scholarship recipient, attended Reedley College before transferring to University of California, Davis. Adriana graduated in June 2025 with bachelor’s degrees in psychology and Spanish. Adriana plans to substitute teach while applying for a master’s program in school psychology.

Clarisse Tracy, 2021 Agricultural Scholarship recipient, graduated from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo in May 2025 with a bachelor’s degree in agricultural business. Diana Robledo, 2020 Field Worker Bridge Scholarship recipient, attended Bakersfield College before transferring to California State University Bakersfield. The summer before college, Diana worked with her mom in the table grape vineyards. She expressed interest in animal science and agricultural business, drawing inspiration from her agricultural and AVID instructors.

Nerin Delgado, 2020 Field Worker Scholarship recipient, graduated from University of California, Los Angeles in June 2024 with a bachelor’s degree in human biology. Growing up in McFarland and graduating from McFarland High School, Nerin’s personal statement credited her parents—both of whom worked in the fields picking grapes—with instilling a strong work ethic in her. Californians have been cultivating grapes for more than two centuries. Today, 99 percent of U.S. table grapes are produced in California's warm, dry climate that is ideal for grape growing. With more than 80 grape varieties grown, California grapes come in three colors—green, red and black—and are in season from May through January.
